Richley Reserve

Entrance to Richley Reserve picnic area is off Freyberg Street, New Lambton.

This area is full of history, an active mine site for over 30 years the area has been restored to a beautiful peaceful picnic area. With large grassed flats, barbeques and picnic tables this is the ideal location for any family function, cross country or corporate events.

Toilets, playground, five shelters (one wheelchair accessible), electric and wood fired barbecues and two duck ponds and carpark.

Please note: The playground will be inaccessible until early 2018 due to improvements below.

Improvements to Richley Reserve

We are working to create a fantastic new space for visitors to the Richley Reserve side of Blackbutt Reserve. We are building new pathways, shelters and BBQ areas and are also finalising plans for a brand new adventure playground.

While the construction work is underway we encourage everyone to use our facilities at Carney Avenue. Head to the wildlife arena for a reptile show, learn about all the animals during their daily feeding times or buy some emu food and try your hand at animal feeding.
