The Newcastle Safe City Plan aims to address issues of community safety and anti-social behaviour within the Newcastle Local Government Area (LGA).
The Engagement objectives were to better understand crime and safety issues affecting the Newcastle community, community perceptions of safety and their experience of crime, feelings of safety in LGA and neighbourhoods and determine changed behaviours due to safety concerns.
The online survey was conducted between 21 June and 6 July 2016. It was made available to Newcastle Voice, Council's Community Reference Panel, and to the broader community. A total of 841 participants completed the survey, of which 772 were Newcastle residents.
