Community Assistance

The Community Assistance Program has been designed to provide grants for community events, projects, services or activities to promote and enhance a caring and inclusive community, and vibrant and activated public places.

Applications for the 2017-18 Community Assistance Program closed on Monday 1 May 2017. 

The successful applicants of the 2017-18 Community Assistance Program are listed below.

Note:  In 2018-19 this program will be retitled 'Community Place Making Program'

Gem and Jewellery Show $2000 Regional gem and jewellery show; 4,000 attendees; 11-12 November 2017
Sudanese Football Competition $5000 National Sudanese soccer tournament, to be held in Newcastle (Smith Park) on 23-24 September 2017.
Newcastle RSL Sub branch $5000 To train young musicians to play the military bugle.  Delivered with Newcastle RSL sub branch and the Australian Army Band Newcastle, at the Newcastle School of Performing Arts.
Hunter Writers Centre $2000 Funding of the Newcastle Short Story Awards
