Newcastle Cycling Advisory Committee
To monitor and assist in implementing the Newcastle Cycling Strategy and Action Plan.
Objectives and Responsibilities
Provides advice and recommendations on implementing, monitoring and reviewing Council adopted cycling strategies and shares information and provides advice to Council with a view to contributing to resolving cycling issues.
Current charter adopted 13 December 2016. Revised charter pending Council approval.
The Committee will meet at least four times per year or as resolved by the Committee (dates to be confirmed).
The Committee’s membership comprises three Councillors, community representatives and industry representatives, including Newcastle Cycleways Movement, Roads and Maritime Services and the Heart Foundation.

Other attendees include Council staff (Senior Strategist Transport, Infrastructure Project Officer, Project Manager), industry representatives (including Newcastle Cycleways Movement, Roads and Maritime Services and the Heart Foundation) and community representatives.
The Committee is required to report to Council annually. The report is to be prepared by the Facilitator (Senior Strategist Transport). The Committee may submit reports to Council where resolution is required to enact a recommendation of the Committee.
