Protected & Enhanced Environment
In 2030 our unique environment will be understood, maintained and protected.
The natural environment is crucial to our overall wellbeing. It sustains and contains both our society and the local economy. Newcastle’s natural environment is valued highly by the community. As a community, we understand the need for careful management of the environment. Good environmental and natural resource management is a requirement for the sustainability of the region into the future.
What We Want As a Community
The Newcastle 2030 Community Strategic Plan was developed following a significant shared planning process with direct input from a wide cross section of the community. It seeks to build on our strengths and unique assets, and describes our shared long term vision for a resilient city that is smart, liveable and sustainable.
