The Function Centre

The Fort Scratchley Function Centre is a contemporary, light filled space with views over the Newcastle Ocean Baths and Cowrie Hole. It also features a timber deck ideal as an alfresco option and for soaking up the ocean air.

The Barracks

The Barracks are made up of two adjoining rooms (Barracks North and South) which open onto a small balcony which offers brilliant foreshore and harbour aspects.

Note: the Barracks do not have any air conditioning or heating due to the historic nature of the site.

Food and Beverage

Blue Star Catering are the award-winning onsite caterers at Fort Scratchley. Their focus is on quality food and beverage items as well as seamless service to ensure your guests have the best possible experience.

Equipment Hire

Complementary equipment provided at Fort Scratchley includes blackout facilities, wired microphone and lectern, flipchart, whiteboard and WIFI.

Additional equipment available for hire includes data projector and 10 ft screen, LCD 55inch screens and lapel/handheld microphones.

Booking your event

Please contact our Venue Services team on 02 4974 2166 or email newcastlevenues@ncc.nsw.gov.au to discuss times, dates and your special requirements.

Some things for you to consider when making your booking:

  • We will hold a tentative booking for seven days
  • Bookings will be considered confirmed upon receipt of a signed agreement and payment of the full venue hire charge
  • Final guest numbers should be provided to us seven days prior to your function
