National Tree Day 2019

treeinpage.jpg
We are celebrating National Tree Day with a community planting day on Sunday 28 July, at Bull and Tourle Street Reserve.

National Tree Day started in 1996 and has grown into Australia's largest community tree-planting and nature care event.

When: Sunday 28 July 9am- 1pm
Where: Shelley Close, Mayfield West

Please wear appropriate clothing (hat, covered shoes, long sleeved shirt and long pants recommended). Gloves, tools and equipment for planting will be provided.

This is a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty and give back to the community, planting trees is also a lot of fun. We have already planted over 3,750mof native trees and understory in National Tree Day activities over the last 6 years. That’s roughly the size of Newcastle CBD.

With your help, we can deliver the first stage of this community urban forest project, building on the legacy we have created with communities around Newcastle.
