Laman Street

Page hero image The redevelopment of Laman Street was completed and opened to the public in October, 2013. The new look Laman Street has a newly paved open pedestrian area with 10 new figs growing in tree vaults. The state of the art vaults prevent the root system of each tree interfering with surrounding infrastructure while enabling the trees to develop a structurally healthy and stable root plate. Surrounding each tree is porous pavement that allows rainwater to soak in around the base of each tree giving them a drink and as a result reducing stormwater runoff and filtering pollutants. Redevelopment also included landscaping, installation of street furniture and bollards.
