Urban Renewal SEPP
On December 15 2010 the NSW Government established a new Urban Renewal SEPP to specifically ensure the delivery of targeted urban renewal outcomes.

Newcastle City Centre Report
The Hunter Development Corporation’s Newcastle City Centre Report identifies catalytic projects to revitalise Newcastle City Centre.
Catalyst projects include:
- An improved public transport system
- Relocation and expansion of the University of Newcastle’s campus in the city centre
- Relocation of the States justice facilities to the Civic Precinct
- Staged delivery of an upgraded public domain plan
