Council maintains a demographic database that is available for everyone. This data is free, easy to use and a great resource for those who are interested in who we are now and how our community is likely to change overtime.
The Community Profile provides a demographic analysis for The City of Newcastle and its suburbs based on results from the 2011, 2006, 2001, 1996 and 1991 Censuses of Population and Housing. The profile is updated with population estimates when the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) releases new figures. Forecasts are also available for each year from 2011 to 2036.
The Community Atlas includes key socio-demographic characteristics for The City of Newcastle presented as interactive maps. Each map is prepared using Census Collector Districts providing the finest level of detail to help identify spatial patterns and trends in the area.
