Next Step:

At Councils meeting held on 21 June 2011, it was decided to submit the draft Newcastle LEP 2011 to the Department of Planning and Infrastructure with a request that a formal legal opinion be obtained as to whether the draft LEP may be legally made.

The minutes from the Council meeting can be viewed on Councils webpage.

The Newcastle LEP will come into operation when it is made by the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure and published on the NSW legislation website.
