Laman Street Trees Working Party

The City of Newcastle has established the Laman Street Trees Working Party.

The Working Party has been established to provide advice to the Urban Planning & Design Advisory Committee on the Laman Street trees.

The Working Party has three objectives:

Advise Council on the implementation of the Council resolution of 14 December 2010.
Seek evidence based solutions.
Ensure Council’s duty of care and legislative responsibilities are met.

The working party includes:

Two community members
Three technical specialists (1 urban/landscape designer, 1 arboriculturalist and 1 risk management practitioner)
Three Councillors (Cr Cook, Cr Claydon, Cr Nelmes and Cr Osborne)
Council's General Manager (Chair)
Two Council Directors (Future City and Liveable City)
Council's Infrastructure Management Services Manager.
