Laman Street Trees Working Party
The City of Newcastle has established the Laman Street Trees Working Party.
The Working Party has been established to provide advice to the Urban Planning & Design Advisory Committee on the Laman Street trees.
The Working Party has three objectives:
- Advise Council on the implementation of the Council resolution of 14 December 2010.
- Seek evidence based solutions.
- Ensure Council’s duty of care and legislative responsibilities are met.
The working party includes:
- Two community members
- Three technical specialists (1 urban/landscape designer, 1 arboriculturalist and 1 risk management practitioner)
- Three Councillors (Cr Cook, Cr Claydon, Cr Nelmes and Cr Osborne)
- Council's General Manager (Chair)
- Two Council Directors (Future City and Liveable City)
- Council's Infrastructure Management Services Manager.
