Beresfield Recreation Review
Council will be commencing a strategic analysis of open space, recreation and community facilities within the Beresfield -Tarro area.
The primary objectives of this project are to
- develop an understanding of community use of open space, recreation and community facilities,
- identify any gaps in current facility provision and
- identify short to medium term open space, recreation and community facility resources required to meet community needs.
The findings of this analysis will assist with the development of a site specific Plan of Management for Lindsay Reserve, Beresfield.
It will also provide advice on future community needs for open space located adjacent to Beresfield Bowling Club which currently accommodates pentanque, tennis and basketball courts and three council buildings ultilised by the Beresfield Scouts, Girl Guides and 2322 Men’s Shed respectively.
Workshops targeting key stakeholders and local community groups will commence in April 2012. Intercept surveys conducted over a number of days in May will gather input from the broader local community.
A report outlining the findings of this research is expected to be presented to Council in July 2012.
If you have any queries please contact Council's Manager Strategic Planning Services, Jill Gaynor on 4974 2707.
