Public exhibitions

Information is put on public exhibition so you can provide your comment and input to Council.

Examples of things that are put on exhibition include proposals relating to policy changes, development applications and strategic plans that impact on our city.

Any person may make a written submission to Council regarding the proposals. Submissions must be received by 5pm on the last day of the exhibition period.

Currently on exhibition

Amendments to the Newcastle Development Control Plan 2011 and Newcastle Urban Strategy - Proposed amendments to the Newcastle Development Control Plan 2011 and Newcastle Urban Strategy (Update 2009) in respect to landscaping controls for urban housing.

Laman Street Design - The design for the rehabilitation of Laman Street allows for infrastructure renewal to be integrated with large tree planting and the estimated budget for the project is $1.8million.

Draft Cathedral Park Master Plan - The draft Cathedral Park Master Plan has been prepared for heritage conservation works and staged landscape and access improvements to Cathedral Park. The plan is on exhibition until Monday 4 June 2012.

Weekly Notification List

Council produces a Weekly Notification List which provides details on the development applications and planning proposals placed on public exhibition during the previous seven days.

The list gives details of the development proposal(s) and the time period within which you can make comment on the plans to Council.

Any detailed plans and supporting documents on exhibition are available for inspection at Council during the public exhibition period.
