The City of Newcastle Sports Awards
The City of Newcastle Sports Awards is a prestigious sports awards program that recognises and celebrates the outstanding success and contributions of sports men and women across a wide range of sporting disciplines throughout the Newcastle local government area.
The awards aim to be one of the highest accolades in local and regional sport, acknowledging the very best athletes from the previous 12 months. Our vision is to enhance the development of sport in Newcastle and the Hunter by working to promote and sustain interest in the development of organised sport.

Gala cocktail ceremony
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Tuesday 29 May at Newcastle City Hall.
Hosted by television sports presenter, Stephanie Brantz, and NBN’s Mitch Hughes, tickets to the star-studded evening include some of the region’s best beer and wines, delectable canapés, live entertainment, and special guest speaker, Steve “Blocker” Roach.
The gala cocktail ceremony will allow guests to mingle with sporting legends while recognising the individuals, organisations and events that shape Newcastle’s strong sporting culture. Tickets available now from Proticket.
