Impact of rate increase

So we can provide key civic projects, Council proposes to seek a permanent additional 5% increase through a rate variation in 2012-13 on top of the allowable rate cap percentage (3.6%).

Council will also seek external grant funds and sell under-utilised or redundant Council assets to provide revenue for funding the key civic projects.

If Council’s application to IPART is approved, this will mean the average residential ratepayer will pay an additional $46.98 for the year above the rate cap in 2012-13 to fund the proposed projects.
