Council has demonstrated its commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples through the implementation of the Aboriginal Employment Strategy 2006-2008.

The Strategy is designed to increase employment opportunities and job retention for Aboriginal people. It aims to address the employment disadvantages of Aboriginal people by actively implementing equal employment opportunities at all levels and empower Aboriginal people to achieve self-sufficiency.
