Coastal revitalisation
The City of Newcastle, the NSW Government through the Land and Property Management Authority and Hunter Surf Lifesaving all have roles and responsibilities in maintaining, using and promoting coastal assets.

No 2 Sportsground
No 2 Sportsground is located at the south western end of Newcastle's CBD. It is part of the larger national park precinct. Council is working on a proposal to transform the site into a venue that has the capacity to attract medium scale regional, intra and interstate spoting activities.

Development of the Burwood Wedge for the Newcastle Courthouse.

Bar Beach cliff stabilisation
The City of Newcastle is improving many coastal areas and a project to stabilise Bar Beach cliff is now underway.

Maryland skate park
Grange Street Reserve skate park at Maryland is being upgraded. Work will get underway in March 2012 and should take eight weeks.

Wallsend skate park stage two
Concept plans are in for stage two of the upgrade to Wallsend Skate Park.

Cathedral Park
A project to make Cathedral Park a showcase for the city’s history has began.

Blackbutt Reserve playground
A new regional playground will be built at Blackbutt Reserve and has been designed for 2 to 10 year olds. A concept plan has been developed with a Bower Bird theme.

Merewether Beach works
Improvements are underway at Merewether Beach as part of the implementation of the public domin plan for the area.

Lambton Pool aquatic playground
A new water playground is being built at Lambton Swimming Centre. The playground will be built in time for summer 2011/2012.

Hunter Water
Hunter Water is a state-owned corporation who provides water and wastewater services to over half a million people in the lower Hunter Region, including the Newcastle LGA.
