The City of Newcastle is responsible for looking after public facilities and providing community services.
Approximately 50% of the income Council gets to pay for these services comes from your rates.

Pay your rates by direct debit
Council offers direct debit from cheque or savings accounts as a method of paying your rates. This method is available by completing one of the direct debit forms listed below and returning it to Council.
You can elect to have your rates paid from your nominated bank account:
Fortnightly (239kb pdf)- Monthly (239kb pdf)
- Quarterly (237kb pdf)
- Annually (237kb pdf)
