University Zone

UoN_logo_2The University Zone reports on the electricity consumption of the University of Newcastle Callaghan Campus, excluding the residences of Edward Hall and International House. Over 20,000 students and 3,500 staff members attend the Callaghan Campus. The zone was established as the 16th zone of the ClimateCam online monitoring system in March 2011, to assist the University to monitor and report on its electricity usage.

The University Zone was created as part of the University of Newcastle’s commitment to continually improving its environmental sustainability performance. To find out more about the University's campus management, teaching and learning and research initiatives for environmental sustainability, visit the University of Newcastle website.
