Methodology
Actual water consumption data (ML) is provided on a monthly basis for the Hunter Region. At the end of each year, real city-by-city breakdown of water consumption data is available, and these ratios have been applied for the Newcastle LGA. Coefficients
ML of water is converted to tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions expressed as carbon dioxide (CO2 from electrical power + CO2-e from methane). The coefficient used to convert ML of water consumed to Tonnes of CO2-e is outlined in the table below.
