For schools
ClimateCam for Schools is a program developed by the City of Newcastle to foster energy and resource efficiency within local schools.
The program provides schools with access to a range of sustainability tools and resources as well as providing environmental education opportunities to students, teachers and their communities.
Participating Schools
Participating schools have access to the Online Resource Kit which includes a range of resources and tools to implement the ClimateCam for Schools Program.
There are now 48 schools participating in the project, thanks to the generous support of the sponsors listed below. These schools have received a combined total of 150 ‘eco-stars’ to date. Download the 2010 Star Report
(454 kb pdf) to find out which stars the participating schools have achieved.
How can your school get involved?
Schools from Newcastle Local Government Area not currently participating in the program will be sent information later this year to join ClimateCam for Schools in 2012.
For more information download the ClimateCam for Schools Brochure
(342 kb pdf) or contact Michelle Lindsay on 4974 2573 or mlindsay@ncc.nsw.gov.au.
Schools outside of the Newcastle Local Government Area can participate in the program, however sponsorship is required to support the schools involvement. If you are a company interested in sponsoring a local school please contact Council on 4974 2573 to receive a Sponsorship Information Pack.
What is ClimateCam for Schools?
ClimateCam for Schools is a milestone based program designed to assist schools in using resources more efficiently, by
