The vision of Together Today is to establish Newcastle and the Hunter as the most energy, water and waste efficient region in Australia.
The members of Together Today include The City of Newcastle, NBN Television, Rio Tinto Coal & Allied, Hunter Water, Ausgrid, Department of Education and Communities, TAFE NSW Hunter Institute, Port Waratah Coal Services, The University of Newcastle, the Newcastle Herald, Macquarie Generation and the Catholic Schools Office. These members bring together a group of networks that is unparalleled in NSW and possibly Australia.
The Together Today network focuses more on leveraging and facilitating access and participation in existing energy, water and waste reduction programs of its members such as the Smart Grid Smart City initiative, the NSW Government's Home Power Savings Program, Earth Hour, Hunter Water’s Showerhead Exchange Program, and the development of clean energy and water curriculum for schools and TAFE professional skill development.
Together Today also provides a connection point for community and business organisations to present new and emerging technology and services.
