“Gaia”, Open House Third Saturday of the month, 2pm-4pm
16 Tinobah Place, Maryland
Sister Anne and Sister Diana purchased a typical suburban home 2 years ago. The home had large, unshaded, west facing windows, water guzzling lawns and numerous palm trees.
Their first water and electricity bill was a shock and was a catalyst to make changes to their home. With a mixture of high tech solutions and some common sense ideas they have reduced their water and energy consumption drastically. They now have a very comfortable home that is warm in winter and cool in summer, with minimal artificial heating and cooling.
The Nun’s previous occupations as teachers are evident with their interpretive signage around the yard, pointing out handy hints, where to source materials and even the costs involved.
No bookings are required and everyone is welcome.
