City-wide Flood Plan

A draft Newcastle City-wide Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan is currently on public exhibition. To view the plan go to Council's public exhibition page.

The draft Newcastle City-wide Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan excludes the Wallsend Commerical Centre area since Council adopted a floodplain risk management plan for the Wallsend Commerical Centre in 2009 (see here). The draft Newcastle City-wide Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan does not supersede or negate the Wallsend Commercial Centre Plan in any way. Implementation of both the City-wide Flood Plan and the Wallsend Commerical Centre Plan should occur concurrently. Council has already recieved grant assistance to start the detail design phase of implementing the Wallsend Commerical Centre Plan.
