Environment awards
Council runs a bi-annual environmental award which identifies, promotes and rewards environmental best practice.
The event promotes a vision of environmental excellence, builds networks with like-minded peers, and reinforces initiative by celebrating success stories.
Key Target Group/s
Business, Industry, Community Groups, Landcare Groups, Government Agencies.
Outcomes
The Awards use a nomination brochure, the judging process and the presentation event to actively promote environmental best practice.
$8K in prize money is distributed to community environmental organisations including community greening, Coastcare and Landcare groups.
Parterships
Project partners include the Hunter Region Landcare Network, Hunter-Central Rivers CMA, Hunter Water, Harris Wheeler, Master Builders Association, Hunter Business Chamber, Hunter Environmental Institute.
