Sustainable living
The Sustainable City Program is moving around the suburbs of Newcastle and currently in Beresfield, Tarro, Sandgate, Hexham and Black Hill.
The goals of the program are to inspire confidence in the low-carbon and sustainable society of the future as well as to increase knowledge of earth science and our impacts.
The program assists with the adoption sustainable living practises such as installing solar hot water, growing your own veges, using energy and water more efficiently or installing water tanks. We aim to see an improvement in all indicators suburb by suburb: starting with a reduction in water and energy usage.
