Mural art

The Pride of Place Committee has been implementing a multi faceted graffiti management strategy for the city of Newcastle, including community and mural art projects.

The committee is working with stakeholders across the community to support and implement community arts projects. Projects are evaluated by merit and appropriateness along place making guidelines.

The Pride of Place Committee has a number of exciting projects in development.

ARTC Mural Art Project

A mural art project was completed in partnership with Australian Rail Track Corporation. The design is of an old steam freight train that rolled on the line when it first opened and the second train is the newest locomotive that uses the rail corridoor. Visit the image gallery.

A mural was painted at the Adamstown Rosebud oval. It depicts the former Rosebud player Stuart Musiliak who developed his skills for soccer by kicking against the wall for hours. Visit the image gallery for picture.
