Former bohemian and struggling author, Marcel Marx (Andre Wilms) has retreated to the port city of Le Havre, where he earns a living as a shoe-shiner. Fate throws in his path Idrissa (Blondin Miguel), an underage immigrant refugee from Africa. Can a shoe-shiner rise above the cold wall of human indifference to help a young refugee?
