General Pool information
The City of Newcastle owns and operates five swimming centres across the Newcastle LGA. All centres are supervised by trained lifeguards and offer heated pools, featuring a minimum of a 50m pool and learner pool at each facility.
Other facility features include
- playground equipment and grassed areas
- bbqs and shaded seating
- heated showers
- kiosk and
- off-street parking and disabled parking.
All centres are also home to a swimming club. The contact details for the swimming clubs can be located on their respective swimming centre pages.

Pool safety
All swimming centres are supervised by professional lifeguards, trained to handle any emergency. Please keep these handy safety tips in mind when visiting our Centres.
- Don't run on concrete around the pool
- Always check the depth of the pool before getting in
- Never push or throw people into the pool
- Face masks and snorkels are not allowed at inland pools
- Don't swim or play under diving towers boards or slides
- Ball games only allowed in pool under supervision
Hiring swimming centres
Swimming centres can be hired for a range of events including
- school carnivals
- club competitions
- corporate events and
- children's birthday parties.
Every centre has facilities, including
- bbq's
- picnic grounds
- shaded areas
- clean amenities and
- fully equipped kiosks.
The giant inflatable obstacle course can also be hired with advance notice.

Hiring lanes
Lanes can be hired by swimming clubs and businesses for swimming lessons and activities such as aqua-aerobics.
