Funding Opportunities
The City of Newcastle encourages community leadership and collaboration to address local issues.
Community Assistance Program - Offered once annually to non-profit organisations for projects with a community benefit.
Council Subsidies - Council services, including venue and mobile stage hire, are available to community groups.
Community Place Makers Small Grant Program - A quick turnaround program to kick start place making with amounts up to $1,000.
Sports Partnership Program - Helps provide facilities to sporting groups to promote the development of sport.

Community Development Support Expenditure (CDSE)
Council administers two additional funding programs, these aim to strengthen the capacity of communities enabling them to manage issues and respond to change. These programs provide a framework for assessing local needs and service gaps, and a means of promoting consultation between Local Councils and the community.
