Newcastle and the Lower Hunter have a number of historical cemeteries.Many of these burial grounds have been cleared over time and scant record remains. This index comprises headstone transcriptions of 4 significant cemeteries in the Newcastle area, Christ Church Cathedral Cemetery (1819-1894), Tarro Cemetery (1841-1968), Old Wallsend Cemetery (1865-1896) and traces of North Waratah Cemetery(1843-1899).

It also includes records of Stratford (1925-1997) & Gloucester (no dates available) Cemeteries.
