We have an excellent selection of print, media and electronic resources available for loan. 

We also house specialist local studies, research and rare book collections for online or in-house use. 

Membership

Membership is free of charge

Borrowing

You can use any branch of Newcastle Region Library.

Returning items

Items can be returned to any branch of Newcastle Region Library. 

Lost or damaged items

If an item is lost, stolen or damaged beyond repair you will be required to pay for the item, plus a non-refundable processing fee. 

Loan Periods

• Books - 4 weeks
• Magazines 2 weeks
• Popular items 2 weeks (no renewals)
• Music CDs 2 weeks
• DVDs 2 weeks
• Children’s CDs 4 weeks

Overdue items

An overdue fee per item per day will apply to returns made after the due date.

Lost library card

Notify the Library immediately if your card is lost or stolen.  A replacement fee for a lost or damaged Library card applies. 

Renewing items 

Renewals can be made by phone, in person or by accessing the online catalogue.

One renewal per item is allowed, providing the item is not reserved by another member.
