Parking on footpaths
You must not park your vehicle on a bicycle path, footpath or nature strip unless there is a sign giving you permission to park there.
It is also illegal to obstruct access to and from a footpath, driveway or passageway, unless:
(a) you are driving a public bus that is dropping off, or picking up, passengers, or
(b) you are allowed under the Australian Road Rules.
Example. Blocking a driveway
In the example, the vehicle marked with an “X” has stopped where it is illegal to do so.
