Council encourages all pet owners to be responsible for their pet's actions. Pets are referred to as "companion animals".

Dogs and cats must wear a tag that states name, address and phone number or any combination of the three.

It is a requirement that dogs and cats are registered. Council registers dogs and cats. You may also register your cat at our local pound or the RSPCA.

All puppies born or dogs purchased, must be permanently identified (269 kb) with a microchip by 12 weeks of age, point of sale, OR change of ownership, which ever occurs first. More about microchipping.
