Pet ownership

Council encourages all pet owners to be responsible for their pet's actions. Pets are referred to as "companion animals".

Our objectives are set out in the Companion Animal Management Plan 2004

PDF Companion Animal Management Plan 2004 (833Kb).

Pet tags

Dogs and cats must wear a tag that states name, address and phone number or any combination of the three.

Contact Council on 02 4974 2000 for information about pet tags.

Registration

It is a requirement that dogs and cats are registered. Council registers dogs and cats. You may also register your cat at our local pound or the RSPCA.
