Garbage collection
In Newcastle garbage is collected on a weekly basis.
Putting out your garbage
Please make sure your garbage bin is put out on the kerb by 5:30am on the day of collection.
Your bin should be at least one metre from other bins or parked cars, trees, telegraph poles, street signs.
Please try and bag your rubbish (not recyclables or green waste) within your garbage bin as this reduces the chance of loose items being lost onto the road during collection.
The maximum bin content weight able to be lifted by Council's collection vehicles is 65kg. Items such as bricks, concrete, dust and heavy timber are not accepted for collection; they pose an WH&S and environmental risk.
