In addition to this service The City of Newcastle also provides green waste drop off spots around the city.
Drop Off Spots - 2012
Newcastle residents can drop of household quantities of green waste at six locations. Check out the dates that work for you.All locations are available between 9am and 2pm only. Only deposit household quantities of green waste (i.e. equal to a car boot load) at the drop-off spots. Drop-off spots operate regardless of weather conditions.
Larger quantities of green waste can be taken to the Summerhill Waste Management Centre, FEES and CHARGES apply.
Illegal Dumping
It is illegal to dump green waste in bushland, regardless of the type of garden materials. You can be fined for illegal dumping. Dumping degrades the local environment as it contributes to the spread of weeds in reserves and waterways. Please use the Council services provided for the proper disposal of garden waste.
