City of Newcastle is working in collaboration with government partners to ensure our City is prepared in the event of further spread of COVID-19 to the region.

Customer Contact Centre
Customer Contact Centre has temporarily suspending operations at 12 Stewart Avenue. The team are still here to assist you, between 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday on (02) 4974 2000, on webchat or via our Customer Request Form. Deliveries for City of Newcastle can be delivered to our Depot, 222 Turton Road Waratah NSW 2298.

Digital Print Services
Digital Print Services has temporarily closed to the public.

Temporary Parking Permit
The essential services Temporary Parking Permit will allow doctors, nurses, pharmacists and paramedics who live in commercial zones  (in the city centre, Hamilton and Darby Street) to park close to home for free and for an unlimited time. Health care workers and emergency services personnel can apply by emailing parkingservices@ncc.nsw.gov.au

Annual Fire Safety Statement
We have not received any changes in directive from the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment in relation to the necessity for building owner/owner's agents to submit an Annual/Supplementary Fire Safety Statements to Council and Fire & Rescue. It is imperative that fire safety measures safeguard our community as they support and comply with the Federal and State COVID-19 restrictions. Find out more.

Food Safety
We are experiencing, and its notable impacts to food businesses, the City of Newcastle has developed a brief checklist and information to assist food businesses during these challenging times.

Food inspection fees have been waived on inspections carried out between 27 April 2020 and 30 June 2020.

Citizenship Ceremonies
Citizenship Ceremonies scheduled for Wednesday 13 May 2020 have been cancelled with the next Ceremony scheduled for Wednesday 2 September 2020 at Civic Theatre. Please contact the Department of Home Affairs on 131 881 for more information.

Volunteers
We have made the decision to temporarily suspend volunteer participation in City of Newcastle programs, events and activities until further notice.​
