Getting to Fort Scratchley

Fort Scratchley is an accessible venue close to accommodation, public transport and Newcastle's stunning beaches and ocean baths. It is located within walking distance of key attractions and shopping precincts. 
 

Supercars Newcastle 500 (22nd-24th November 2019)

From mid-October to late December Supercars will be installing and dismantling infrastructure associated with the annual Newcastle 500 event. Fort Scratchley falls in a zone which may experience disruptions top traffic flow and parking, and noise from trucks and cranes during this period.

To ensure you are fully aware of these changes, Newcastle Venues will be providing an updated account below:

Wharf Road Closure: Wharf Road from Watt Street to Horseshoe Beach Road will be closed from 7am Monday 14th October 2019 to 5pm Friday 13th December 2019.

Watt Street Closure: Watt Street from Scott Street to Wharf Road will be closed from Monday 11th November 2019 to Tuesday 12th November 2019.

Wharf Road Closure: Wharf Road from Watt Street to the nearby pedestrian crossing will be closed from Monday 11th November 2019 to Tuesday 12th November 2019. Traffic is expected to detour through the bus interchange and access to off-street parking will be maintained.

Traffic control and signage will be in place to re-direct traffic.

Using Light Rail

It is only a nine minute (700m) walk from the nearest light rail stop at Pacific Park in Newcastle East.

By car

It is only a five minute drive (1.9km) from Civic Park in the heart of the city.

There is parking on site at Fort Scratchley as well as special event parking that is available as part of your venue hire booking.
