From 1 July 2021, all Building Information Certificates must be submitted through the NSW Planning Portal. Using the portal will incur an administration fee at the time of lodgement. This fee is in addition to any payments required by CN.
A Building Information Certificate is applied for and issued, under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act. The certificate warrants that a council will not, for a period of 7 years from the date of the certificate, seek to require a building to be demolished or altered except in the case of fair wear and tear over that period.
