Priority Projects. Identified by you. Delivered by us.
Our Priority Projects are the result of extensive community consultation which helps form the Newcastle 2030 Community Strategic Plan.
In 2010 and 2014 we consulted ratepayers to learn about their priorities for future infrastructure investment and to seek their support for an additional 5% above the standard rate rise cap over a 10-year period to make these projects a reality. The Special Rate Variations were accepted and through extensive community consultation, combined with the additional $44.6 million in revenue to be received through the rate increase, the people of Newcastle identified the four key Priority Projects below.
These key projects will benefit residents, businesses and visitors to Newcastle. But it's only just the beginning. To stay up to date follow us on Facebook and/or subscribe to our monthly newsletter, City e-news.
