Moore Street, Birmingham Gardens

This project aims to address streetscape, access and traffic issues in Moore Street, Birmingham Gardens. The area being investigated can be seen in the Moore Street scope (pdf)

The project has been put on hold due to a number of issues raised through the Public Voice process. Further investigations and community consultation is now required.

What is the process and where are we up to?

The Neighbourhood Centre of Moore Street Birmingham Gardens has been prioritised for improvements. A public domain plan addressing road and footpath layout, lighting and landscaping, will be developed to resolve issues and guide renewal works.

We ran a survey in December 2017 to gain feedback from the community about issues related to the public domain and priorities for improvements.

The information provided by the community was used with data gathered from a site analysis to inform a draft public domain plan.

The Public Domain Planning Process Flow Chart outlines the process in more detail.

Community feedback

The draft Public Domain Plan for Moore Street Birmingham Gardens Neighbourhood Centre was placed on public exhibition from 28 May to 25 June 2018. We reviewed the public submissions and the issues raised will be addressed when the plan is finalised.

A Public Voice Session was held on 18 September 2018 where the Regal Cinema representatives addressed Council in relation to the draft Public Domain Plan for Moore Street Birmingham Gardens.

The project has been put on hold due to a number of issues raised through the Public Voice process. Further investigations and community consultation is now required.
