Public transport
Fort Scratchley is located at the entrance to Newcastle Harbour, just beyond Newcastle Beach, and is easily accessible by public transport with a short walk at the end of your journey.
- Bus: The closest stop is "Nobbys Beach", from there, it’s a 350m walk to Fort Scratchley.
- Train: All trains terminate at Newcastle Interchange. From there you can take the Light Rail from the interchange or bus from Hunter Street
- Ferry: The ferry connects Stockton to the city centre and can offer a pleasant final leg to arrive from Port Stephens locations, including Newcastle Airport. After disembarking at Queens Wharf, catch the Light Rail from Queens Wharf stop to Newcastle Beach. From here it is a pleasant 600m walk to Fort Scratchley.
- Light rail: The closest light rail stop is "Newcastle Beach", a 700m to Fort Scratchley. The light rail connects to destinations between Newcastle Interchange and Newcastle Beach, including the ferry terminal at Queens Wharf.

Parking
Fort Scratchley has a dedicated event car park for approximately 50 vehicles. Entrance to the car park is available via Nobby's road, just to the left of the main entrance to the Fort.
Accessibility
The Function Centre is accessible by wheelchair. There are accessible toilets within the Function Centre.
Fort Scratchley is a heritage site with uneven surfaces and sloped access paths. Visitors requiring step‑free access are encouraged to contact the venue in advance to discuss arrival options.
