Help create a space that is more usable and appealing

James Street Plaza

City of Newcastle are encouraging people who live, work and play in Hamilton to come up with ideas that will revitalise the local plaza. Our initiative follows a Council resolution in February 2018 to prepare a concept plan for the upgrade of the plaza.

To ensure we develop a plan that meets the needs of the community and benefits all stakeholders we have a series of engagement activities planned to capture ideas and opinions.

Start providing your ideas below on how you think we could bring this place to life and also come along to our community drop in sessions on Thursday 6 June 11am-1pm and also 5pm-7pm in the plaza.

Improving James Street Plaza is a placemaking project supporting our commitment to developing vibrant, safe and active public places under the Newcastle 2030 Community Strategic Plan.
