All our branches will be closed for the Australia Day Public Holiday on Tuesday 26 January 2021. Return chutes will be open at all branches (except Lambton). Members can also renew borrowed items via the Newcastle Libraries app or our website. Regular branch hours will resume Wednesday 27 January 2021.

Newcastle Libraries is operating a COVIDSafe service model, and our library branches are open and ready to welcome you. Limited face to face programs for members, pop-up spaces and outdoor library events have recommenced and bookings are essential.

The Local History Library is located on the second floor of the War Memorial Cultural Centre and provides research advice and access to a range of materials about the history and heritage of Newcastle and the Hunter Region.
