Your Summer Stories is an exhilarating summer reads program with something for everyone! Read and get involved with our podcasts, events and conversations.

There are 7 sizzling summer reads picked especially for you. Borrow or reserve from our libraries and eLibrary.

Reward your reading by registering and using our new online reading and activity tracker - Beanstack or by downloading the Beanstack app for Apple or Android.

Once you have registered yourself and any family members with Beanstack, join the Your Summer Stories challenges for adults or the Your Summer Stories - Rewarding your Reading challenge for kids up to 14 years of age. When you have completed a book or an activity, log this in the challenge and see what rewards you release!

Your Summer Stories - Kids summer reading program

Your Summer Stories - Rewarding Your Reading is our kids summer reading program. If you’ve participated in Summer Reading Club in previous years or you’ve just discovered this great offering for the whole family, now’s the time to sign up!

By participating in our reading challenge via Beanstack - kids go in the draw to win one of three Kobo Claras or one of eight $50 vouchers from Maclean’s Booksellers.

Sign up to track reading and library activities through our new online platform Beanstack. Logging books and completed activities is easy through the Beanstack app or via the website.

So borrow in branch or via the eLibrary, complete our Beanstack activities like our in-branch Where’s Wally hunts and come along to our School Holiday Programs from 11-22 January 2021.

Your Summer Stories Podcast

Welcome to Your Summer Stories. This summer Newcastle Libraries introduces a diverse selection of books and experiences that will provide readers with a program that will surprise and delight and encourage readers out of their comfort zone. An eclectic range of titles to suit a variety of preferences is available and readers can choose their own adventure – reading some or all of the titles. Listen to all the episodes of our Your Summer Stories podcast over on our Library Podcasts page - episodes will be dropping regularly from Monday 14 December 2020 until late January 2021.
