Starting Your Research

At our Local History Library you will find resources to help trace your family history. Start your search with yourself, then work back through the generations.

Resources for family history may be books, microfilm, microfiche or online resources. Examples of available records include birth, death and marriages information from each of the Australian States, passenger lists, cemetery records and pioneer registers.

The Library has subscriptions to the online resources Ancestry and Find My Past which you can use in the Library free of charge. Library staff can help you to get started with your research as well as provide advice on using our collections.
