Council Meetings

Council meets to discuss, debate and make decision on issues of public importance. The role of the governing body includes to direct and control the affairs of Council and provide effective civic leadership.

Public attendance at Council and Committee of Council meetings

Council encourages the community to participate in City decision making. Members of the public are able to attend the meetings in person in the Council Chambers at Level 1, 12 Stewart Avenue, Newcastle West or watch the proceedings of meetings live online via the webcasting page. Past meetings are also available for viewing below.

Business papers for Council and Committee of Council meetings are available on our website ahead of the meetings, no later than the day before the meetings take place.
