Revitalising our Coast

Council has a vision for a smart, liveable and sustainable city. This vision includes the revitalisation of our coast to provide the standard of facilities necessary to attract people to live, work and play in Newcastle.

The Bathers Way - a 6km shared pathway and associated infrastructure from Merewether Ocean Baths to Nobbys Beach is a key element of our coastal revitalisation plan.

A four-page Newcastle Herald feature published in May, 2017, outlines how this ambitious project is transforming our coast for the benefit of the entire community.
