NSW Seniors Festival 2023
The NSW Seniors Festival is on again in 2023 running from 1st to 12th of February. It is the largest annual festival for seniors in the Southern Hemisphere, reaching up to 500,000 seniors each year. If you are over 60, NSW Seniors Festival gives you the chance to make new friends or get together with old ones at an array of local community events, many of which are free or heavily discounted.

Seniors Festival Comedy Gala and Mini Expo, City Hall
Thursday 9th February 2023 10am - 1pm As part of the 2023 Seniors Festival, the City of Newcastle is hosting a comedy gala and mini expo at City Hall. General members of the public do not need to register for the expo but must purchase a ticket to attend the comedy gala. Tickets can be purchased on the Civic Theatre Website. |  |

The event is for seniors and all levels of fitness and ability are welcome. You don’t need to have any experience with drumming, just be willing to try it out and have some fun. Commonwealth Home Support Program
Commonwealth Home Support Program offers a variety of entry-level support services to benefit older people and carers to stay independent and live in their community longer.
Assessment and referral for domestic assistance and community care for people living in will be completed by My Aged Care. My Aged Care can be contacted at: 1800 200 422 or www.myagedcare.gov.au
Residents may be eligible for assistance with:
- Domestic assistance (household chores)
- Personal care
- Centre-based day care
- Meals and other food services
- Respite care (short breaks)
- Case management
- Home maintenance and modification
- Formal linen service
- Nursing care (health and personal care)
- Transport
- Counselling/support, information
- Advocacy (for clients and carers).
